BIBLE QUIZZING 2023-2024
Welcome to an exciting new year of Quizzing.
This year we are excited to be studying the books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians!
Quiz practices this year will be on Mondays from 7pm pm until 9pm at South Edmonton Alliance Church.
What is expected of me?
We believe that memorizing and studying God’s Word is important for everyone, and Bible Quizzing is one program where this is the focus. We recognize that the commitment to practices and quiz meets is more than some student’s schedules allow and ask that you carefully evaluate and understand what is expected of you for participation in this program. Just like any other team that you might be involved with, Bible Quizzing requires commitment too!
Quizzing requires weekly attendance at practices, although we all understand that there may be circumstances where you may need to miss a practice. You also will be part of a team at Quiz Meets and so participation at these meets is very important.
Every quizzer will receive a scripture text. This needs to be brought to practice every week, along with your workbook. Quizzes will be expected to memorize their club verses, and we have a choice of 5 clubs to choose from. Club 50, Club 100, Club 150, Club 300, and club Text.
We have a workbook that goes along with the memorization, to help in becoming familiar with the chapter. There is also a computer software game that can be done as an option, and Acts audio CDs that can be listened to to help memorize the material. We would like to be able to design a plan for each quizzer that will be most effective for them. Quizzes also need to read through or listen to the chapter a MINIMUM of 3 times in the week.
Quiz Meet Weekends:
Quiz Meets are on Friday night and all day Saturday. We have a number of coaches and officials that travel to and from the meets with us. Some out of town meets may require quizzes to be excused from school early on the Friday afternoon. Depending on the distance we may stay over on Saturday night as well
