In his Report to General Assembly 2014, President Dave Hearn writes:
It is time for a new dream. One of the profound realities is that the nations of the world are coming to Canada. The Alliance must develop a new agility that allows us to move quickly enough to seize the opportunities that God brings to us. Over the years, we have operated with two strategic plans, one for our domestic or national interests and another for our global or international interests.
It is time to have a unified strategy, a global plan that allows us to work more effectively in this time of rapid change. We are calling this global plan the Five “S” Strategy— Sea-to-Sea, Sun, Sand, Silk, and Spice—all integrated in a global thrust to reach the least–reached people in our world.
Least-reached people groups are those in which evangelical Christians comprise less than 2% of the population. According to Joshua Project, there are over 6,600 unreached people groups representing 42.1% of all the world’s people groups.
Dave continues, “We need to rise up with renewed boldness to risk for the sake of those who have never heard. In the next 10 years, we are committed to making our greatest impact for the Kingdom.”
